How often do I need to change my water in an aquaponics system?

In a balanced system, essentially never.  You will need to add water to replace water lost to evaporation or transpiration (water lost by the plants as they grow) but the system is pretty much self-cleaning.  Check out some of our other posts to see what to do if you feed too much or add too many fish and get a bacteria bloom . . .
