Eleanor Musick
of Counsel, Torrey Pines Law Group
Ms. Musick is an attorney whose practice emphasizes intellectual property. In more than 25 years in practice, Eleanor has prosecuted hundreds of patent applications spanning a wide range of technical fields including bioinformatics and biomarker discovery, artificial intelligence and data mining, medical devices and diagnostics, robotic systems and laboratory instrumentation, nanotechnology, statistical signal and image processing, wireless and optical communications, bar code readers, advanced engineering materials (superconductors, semiconductors, magnetoresistance), oceanography and geophysics, lighting fixtures, sports gear, and mechanical devices. Eleanor obtained U.S. Patent No. 8,966,816 covering ECOLIFE’s Eco-Cycle® table-top aquaponics system as well as registrations for several of ECOLIFE’s trademarks.
Prior to opening the San Diego office of Chicago-based IP boutique Greer, Burns & Crain in January 2015, Eleanor was a partner for more than 10 years with the San Diego firm of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch. Before that, she was of counsel for three years with Atlanta-based Kilpatrick Stockton. Eleanor began her legal career in 1989 with the small San Diego intellectual property boutique of Brown, Martin, Haller & McClain after working for over 9 years as a process engineer for Unisys Corporation.
Eleanor and her husband Abe Ordover have been ECOLIFE supporters since their first ECOLIFE trip to Mexico and the monarch overwintering sites in 2009. They were so touched by the experience that they convinced a group of friends to accompany them on the ECOLIFE Mexico trip the following year — a wonderful time was had by all. Eleanor and Abe returned again with ECOLIFE to see the monarchs in 2011 and hope to make the trip again soon.
