Oil Exploration Threatening Mountain Gorillas
Oil exploration in Africa’s oldest National Park, also a UNESCO World Heritage site, threatens Mountain Gorilla habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorillas. British oil company, SOCO, holds concessions for 85% of the Virunga National Park and the Democratic Republic of Congo is pressing ahead with oil exploration. Oil exploration will lead to irreparable harm of one of the most biological diverse regions of the world and threaten the already endangered Mountain Gorillas. See more pictures here.
