Putting ECOLIFE in your will ensures we can continue our work and advance your philanthropic goals and values beyond your lifetime.
Support our future activities for years to come with a designated sum. Each year, a portion of the endowment’s earnings are paid out, while the principle (or corpus) is retained for future growth.

How it Works
Designate ECOLIFE as a beneficiary of your estate by will, trust, or another instrument. Your legacy gift can be a specific asset, a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of your estate.
You can establish a named endowment fund honoring or recognizing a loved one in your name. Endowments may be completed immediately or pledged over a period of 3-5 years.
Gifts can be given as 3-5 year pledges or outright donations.

Much like the Monarch Butterfly’s indispensable role in upholding the stability and sustainability of our ecosystem, the visionary support of our Butterfly Legacy Society is paramount in safeguarding a healthier ecosystem for generations to come.
Members of the Butterfly Legacy Society, by sharing their narratives, embodying philanthropic values, and setting a compelling example, play a vital leadership role in inspiring others to embark on parallel journeys of impactful commitment to ECOLIFE.

Membership
There are multiple ways you can qualify for membership in the Butterfly Legacy Society.
- Leave ECOLIFE in your will.
- Designate an endowment.
- Give a legacy society gift of $5,000+.
- Add to an already established endowment in the name of ECOLIFE:
- Rancho Santa Fe Foundation: Bill Toone and Sunni Black Endowment or the Wayne and Dianne Schoolfield Endowment
- San Diego Foundation: Select ECOLIFE Foundation Director’s Endowment from the drop-down options
